Population of India
As of 2012 the population of India is 1.237 billion. India has more than two thousand ethnic groups. 82% of the population are of the religion of Hinduism.
Deserts in India
Two major tourists attractions are the Thar and Kutch deserts. The two deserts stretch many kilometers and are home to tons of wildlife. The Thar desert is 496 miles long, and the Kutch is 16k square kilometers long, and almost impossible to cross.
Northeast of India
The North East of India refers to the eastern part of India. In the far North East the Chin Hills and the Kachin Hills separate India from Myanmar.
Central of India
Vindhyachal mountain ranges defines central India, located as they are almost in the middle part of Indian sub-continent.
North
The Himalayas, the worlds highest mountain chain. (Also home to the mythical bigfoot/yeti, but we're not going into detail about that.)
Jhelum River
Originates in the south-eastern part of Kashmir. Flows into Wular Lake.
Chenab River
Originates from both the Chandra and the Bhaga rivers. The river is 960 kilometers long.
Indus River
A major river in Asia and flows through Pakistan. Pakistan's largest river.
Tourist Attractions
The Taj Mahal is in Agra and is an immense mausoleum of white marble and built between the years 1632 and 1635.
