YOUTH ROOTS STUDENT LEADERSHIP PROGRAM
April 10 is the deadline for a life-changing leadership opportunity for students. YouthRoots is a local nonprofit that teaches high school students how to make the world a better place while developing their leadership and life skills through the YouthBoard program. YouthRoots was recently awarded the National Philanthropy Day's Award for "Outstanding Foundation." The YouthBoard program is completely free. As members, students will:
- Learn and practice skills that will empower them to be a strong leader today and tomorrow
- Use philanthropy to tackle issues they care about
- Collaborate with awesome high schoolers from different schools
- Complete 60 hours of community service
Students who are passionate about making the world a better place should apply online here by April 10th. You can also nominate a student online. If you have any questions, please contact our Program Manager Erin Button, at erin@youthroots.org.

SPRING TESTING
Below are the grade level assessment dates:
● Juniors: CMAS Science Tuesday, April 12
● Juniors: SAT Wednesday, April 13
● Sophomores: PSAT 10 Thursday, April 14
● Freshmen: PSAT 8/9 Friday, April 15
● Seniors: No State Mandated Testing
Students who are scheduled for testing will report to school at 7:30am. After testing, all students will return to school for afternoon classes.
If you wish to opt out your Junior from CMAS click HERE. Bus schedules will not change during the week of testing, so students will need to find alternate means of transportation for pick-up/drop-off.
NEW! Effective for the graduating class of 2022 and beyond, all graduates must meet DCSD graduation competencies in Math and English. The easiest way for students to do this is by taking the SAT. Even if you are not a college bound student, we highly recommend that all students take their assessments to practice for and meet the requirements. Stay tuned for more information in the coming weeks.
Thank you,
TRHS Testing Team

The future of creative writing in Colorado is in good hands: The winners of the DCPA’s high school playwriting competition have diverse styles and interests, resulting in three very different one-act plays: from madcap comedy to politically tinged fantastical drama to a somber meditation on the teen mental health crisis.
Congratulations to our very own Aaditya Bahl - as one of the winners of the DCPA's competition! Click here to read more about this prestigious award.
Now in its ninth year, the playwriting competition has drawn submissions by thousands of Colorado students over the years, resulting in some dynamic work.
The program has attracted more than 25,000 budding playwrights since it was launched by DCPA’s Education & Community Engagement Department in 2013.
