April 25, 2015 - Educational Leadership Symposium

Abstract

A look at the historical context and perceived impact of online learning on student achievement according to recent research articles and pertinent literature. A critique of the research identifies key considerations in regards to the evaluation of the degree of impact. These factors include: student participation/demographics; fidelity of implementation; student engagement; and obstacles to implementation. The literature reviewed provides supportive evidence that the implementation of an online learning environment has the potential to significantly impact student achievement.
