Candy Grams

Your student will be coming home with an information sheet for an upcoming Student Council fundraiser called Candy Grams. You can purchase a Candy Gram for your child to have delivered to a friend from for $1 per note. Your student can fill out the notes sent home on the information page and turn them in at school. Student Council will add candy and deliver to their friends on Valentine's Day! Want to send more than the four notes on the information sheet coming home? You can purchase more for your child and volunteers will distribute additional notes for your child to fill out and have delivered to their friends at school. What a sweet and tasty way to celebrate friendship on Valentine's Day!

Important Hiker/Biker Reminders

We have noticed many students are being picked up by car at the Hiker/Biker exit. This is becoming a huge safety concern as we have students trying to dodge cars while walking or riding their bikes home. As stated in the beginning of year information: "This exit is for students who are walking or riding their bike home only. This is not for cars to park and meet their child to drive home. All children going home by car should be CAR RIDERS for the safety of all students."

Because numerous safety concerns have been reported, we are reminding all parents of the expectation that only students who are walking, riding a bike, or meeting their parents at a golf cart may go home as hiker/bikers. Students who live on the other side of Tuckerton from Rennell cannot safely walk or ride their bike home. If you need to change your child's afternoon transportation to meet this expectation, you may call or email Rennell at or 281-213-1550.

Thank you for your help in ensuring the safe exit of all of our Redhawks.

Morning Drop Off

As a reminder, instruction at Rennell begins at 8:40. Our expectation is that all students are in their seats, ready to learn by 8:40. If your student arrives to school in a mode other than the school bus, we need your help to ensure your student is on campus by 8:30, which will afford enough time to walk to class. Students arriving after the 8:40 bell has rung will be counted tardy.

Thank you for ensuring your child gets to school prior to 8:40 so they have time to walk to class, get seated, and be ready to learn.

Valentine's Day

We will not be having a Valentine's Party at school, however, we will set aside a brief time at the end of the school day on Monday, February 14, for students to exchange valentines. If you choose to send your child with valentines for their classmates, we ask that you send enough for all of the students in the homeroom and label them all "To: My Friend, From: (Your child's name)". This will aid in passing cards out quickly and easily. A small store-bought and individually packaged candy or food item may be included, but nothing large or home-made. We will not be eating any candy or treats at school. All Valentines will go home with your student so that you can make the best decision about if and/or what your child eats.
