Principal's Message
Dear parents/ guardians,
We finished off the week with our Terry Fox run. The weather was beautiful for our run and students did an incredible job honouring Terry Fox. Thank you to any parents/ guardians who were able to join us for the event!
This coming week, we will be having a hold and secure and lockdown drill. It is a drill only for students to practice the school procedures. Teachers have been discussing this with their students to ensure they are prepared. Friday is Orange Shirt Day, be sure to wear orange to support every child matters.
This week, I spoke with our grade 6 - 9 students and school council about energy drinks. Over the last couple of weeks, we have noticed quite a few coming into the school and a noticeable correlation with the amount of concentration and learning happening after lunch. As a result, energy drinks are not allowed in the school. If we see students with an energy drink, it will be confiscated without being returned to them. Please help us out in discussing this with your child to ensure we are creating the best possible learning environment.
Thank you to the everyone who was able to make it to our school council meeting. It was great to be able to check in with everyone there. We discussed a number of topics about the school, such as parental involvement, hot lunch, athletics, and more. Thank you to the Niton Central Fundraising Society who donated school supplies for our teachers and students to utilize!
Have a great week,
Bailey Benson

Volleyball permission forms and schedules went home this week. Fees were set at $100 for volleyball. It is important to note that we are able to keep our fees lower than most other schools due to the fact that we have had numerous donations over past years. It is our hope that we will be able to continue to keep the fees lower even though the cost of bussing, equipment, and tournaments have increased but this has only been possible because of donations and fundraising.
If finances are a barrier for your child playing volleyball, please reach out to the school, we would be happy to help workout a solution.
