A Few Updates

Happy Tuesday Nixon Families!

A few updates for the upcoming week:

In-Person Learners: We earned a special Comfy Cozy Day on Tuesday Jan 19 due to some amazing Bobcat behavior here at school! We have earned over 42,000 Bobcat Points since returning back from Winter Break. In addition, we are earning our way to a "Bobcat Pick a Celebration" when we hit the 55, 000 Bobcat Point mark. When learners show their best Bobcat Behavior (being respectful, responsible, safe, and part of the team) they can earn points for themselves, their classroom, and the building as a whole. It's been fun to celebrate all their excellent behavior and we are almost to our goal of 55,000 points!

Remote Learners: District materials have not all been delivered, so material pick up will be NEXT WEEK. Please be sure to come pick up your next installment of learner materials 1/27-1/29 from 7:45 am-4:15 pm (Jan 27 & 28) or 7:45-2:30 (Jan 29). If these times do not work, you will need to schedule a separate pick up time with me, so please email with request for alternate pick up times. In addition, please remember for those coming back to learning in person, you will NOT need to pick up these materials, but you WILL need to send all of their school materials to class with them on January 27th. This includes anything you have picked up this year, along with school supplies you may have purchased.

Dates for All Families to Remember:

  • January 25-26: No school (staff professional learning days)
  • January 27: Start of 2nd semester & Transition to new learning environment for those who are changing to in-person/remote.

I hope you all have a wonderful week. As always, please reach out if you have any questions.

Family Reading Video

Please take about 15 minutes to review this video about how Nixon is working with learners to improve reading, the goals we have set as a building, and how you can support your children at home to help them meet our building goals.
