St. John School August 2023

Attendance and being on time are very important keys to a successful school year for your child!

• Class starts at 8:25am for PreK-8th grade and 8:35am for 9-12th grade. Students who arrive after this MUST sign in at the office prior to being permitted into class.
• If your child will be absent or late, please call Susan at the office by 8:30am. If the office does not have communication from a parent or guardian on why your child is absent or late, we will be unable to excuse that absence or tardy. Students with a history of attendance issues will be required to have a medical excuse slip in order to excuse any absences.
• Please refrain from checking your child out early unless it is an emergency or prior arrangement. Our school day ends at 3:10pm. The end of day instruction time is very important and causes disruptions to the class when the office is asked to call for a student early.

• Students in extra-curricular activities are required to be in school the full day of practice and/or games, or a medical excuse slip is required for that day in order to attend.
• Day after game rule: Students are to be in school the full day after a game or athletic event they participated in, or if absent a medical excuse slip is required to excuse that absence.

Students who do not abide this policy will either be assigned detention or will not be able to participate in next contest.

If you must make a change with your child’s pick-up or drop-off location, we ask that you please call the office before 2pm the day of or by 2pm the day prior for a morning change. This allows us time to notify the student, teacher, and bus driver. Students will not be allowed on a bus after school that they don’t normally ride without the office being notified prior. Remember, changes affect ALL riders on the route.
