What is Pop Latino?
Pop Latino, known as Latin Pop in other countries is pop music with Latin elements and influences. Also any spanish-speaking country's pop music.
It's the most played Latin music in the US and very popular in Spanish speaking countries.
One of the first Latin singers to become popular in the US was Sergio Mendes in 1960 but there are tons more latin pop artists singing the genre Pop Latino such as Shakira, Jennifer Lopez, and Ricky Martin.
History of the Music:
Pop Latino originated when Latin music was mixed with elements of American Pop music.
The first known artist to make music in the Pop Latino genre was Sergio Mendes in 1960.

Characteristics
Spanish and Portugese are the languages spoken in the genre. Other influences come from the Caribbean. There are many different instruments used in Pop Latino and even technological elements.
Connections to Dance
There's a particular dance that's associated with Pop Latino but dancing to Pop Latino is very common. Activities like Zumba it's popular. People at clubs and parties also dance to Pop Latino.
