What To Expect At Arrivals Each Day
- On the first day of in-person instruction (for individual students and cohorts of students), every student’s temperature must be taken as parents/students may not have completed health screenings in advance. School safety agents and staff assigned to take temperatures should use the handheld non-touch thermometers or wall mounted thermometers to check every student.
- Oral thermometers will be distributed to families at ( backpacked home with students on the first day they attend school in-person) along with this flyer (available in all 9 languages) that includes the link and QR code for the Health (flyer is below)
- Refer to the translated letters below. It outlines the three things families need to do in the morning before arriving to school: 1) check their child’s temperature at home; 2) complete the health screening survey at home; and 3) show their confirmation email via electronic device or printed copy at the school door prior to entry.
- Moving forward, students should complete the temperature check and health screener at home. Students who complete the screener prior to arrival do not need to have their temperatures taken at school, unless they are chosen for a random temperature check. Any student who needs to complete the screener in person must undergo a temperature check.

Technology
The DOE is beginning to issue more devices at this time to families as they did in the Spring.
- When students participating in blended learning return to school buildings this fall, they will continue to use the NYCDOE issued iPads they received last school year. The devices will remain in the school’s inventory. We have been calling families to confirm they are still using the devices. Those who have left the school or moved are returning the devices. Schools can distribute the LTE-enabled iPads to students who do not have wi-fi access and give non-LTE enabled devices to students who have wi-fi access at home.
- We are currently calling families to obtain the devices (Chromebooks) we distributed as well as families who received a DOE IPad from Central who no longer attend NYC Public Schools.
- Please complete the following survey if you are in need of technology as the city will communicate to us
