The Wrangler Review

From the Principal's Pen

I am incredibly proud of our school family. From the extraordinary professionals who have demonstrated their passion, dedication, and energy in fostering the continued learning and growth of every child every day, to the committed and supportive parents who have stepped up to the plate to make sure our children continue learning and growing in spite of our challenges. I believe as a school family, we have committed to doing whatever it takes to help our children grow and succeed and together, we have accomplished much more than I could have ever imagined. Yes, it is safe to say the year did not finish at all the way any of us had expected. I believe however, that to the best of our ability, we have continued to pull together for the good of our students to model for them that in times of adversity, we can persevere and that things are not always going to be easy or as we expected but we can still learn and grow from these experiences. On behalf of the Wrangler Faculty, we extend our sincere appreciation to each and every parent who has worked to try to figure out the "math" that looks very different from the way we learned it, the Flipgrid, the SeeSaw, and all of the Google adventures with us. We are so very grateful for your partnership, your patience, grace, and care of our Wranglers.

Next week begins a new phase for us as we begin working to "shut down" our building. There have been many tears this week as teachers have come up to the building, isolated themselves in their rooms and gone through lockers collecting student belongings as they packed them away to send home for the summer. This is a much different "shut down" than our usual end of year celebrations, filled with reflections and successes and hugs from our students. On the bright side, there have also been many celebrations of outstanding, creative, and innovative submissions of work in their Google Classrooms and Class Family Meetings and we are excited to see continued growth and learning from our students. I am so very thankful for our partnership in what I believe is the most important job in the world-loving, growing, and educating our children. THANK YOU PARENTS.

Calling ALL PARENTS! Student Belongings and Supply Pick Up May 5th and 6th

On Tuesday May 5th and Wednesday May 6th student belongings and supplies will be available for pick up in the parking lot in the back of the building (Teacher Parking Lot). This will be a curbside event. As you can imagine this has been a monumental task. We have attempted to be intentional to plan to keep traffic safe and manageable and moving as efficiently as possible. We continue to ask your grace and patience as we work to get these items to you. Many of our teachers are sending home supplemental resources for summer reading and learning in addition to student belongings. Times for pick up are designated by the first letter of the student's last name in an effort to accommodate families with more than one child. Please note that we are asking all to adhere to safe practices of social distancing, gloves, and masks and to remain in your car as we deliver your student's belongings and supplies to you. As you pull into the parking lot, you will be asked to give your name and the name of your child and teacher. You will then be asked to pull forward to a parking space and wait as your supplies are brought to you. Parents are asked to bring any and all library books with you to return.
