Message from Our Assistant Principal
Hello and Welcome Back Lyon Families:
My name is Dr. Amanda Spychalski, also known as Dr. Spy, and I am the Assistant Principal for Student Services at Lyon. Although I started working at Lyon last year due to the pandemic and the unprecedented year we experienced, I did not meet many of you in person. I am eager to welcome our primary students back to school and see all the learning and growth that will take place this year. Being back in person will provide ample opportunities for us to work together while allowing our youngest learners a school experience that focuses on developing the whole child (i.e. academic, social, and emotional skill development). Prior to Lyon, I worked as an Assistant Principal in Park Ridge-Niles District 64 for five years and taught in a variety of grade levels/settings for ten years before going into administration. Working with young children to lay the foundation for future learning is my passion. It is truly an honor to be part of District 34 and the Lyon family; I look forward to an exciting 2021-22 school year.
See you soon,
Dr. Spy

Authorization to Administer Medication at School
If your child needs to take any medication during the school day -- either prescription or over-the-counter (including ibuprofen or other pain reliever) -- you must submit this form with a doctor's signature to the health office at school (Aquí está la forma en español.). There are no exceptions to this policy. Students should not have medication in their backpack or pocket; parents must provide the medication indicated on the form, in original packaging, to the school nurse.
All health forms are posted on the District 34 website on our frequently used forms page. If you have questions, please contact the Lyon health office at (847) 657-2894 or the Pleasant Ridge health office at (847) 657-2794.
Student Supply Program
Lyon & Pleasant Ridge School Supply Program 2021-2022
No Lists + No Store = No Hassle
Simply pay a single fee and your child’s classroom supplies are covered for the entire school year. The fee does not include “At Home Items” like backpack, lunch bag, change of clothing and shoes for gym.
Classroom teachers are given a budget to purchase all student supplies directly so that each child will have all the same high quality supplies on the first day of school and throughout the year.
