I challenged myself to my own booking blitz:
After the first call guess what: INSTANT GRATIFICATION!
I was proud of myself for just sitting down to make the calls and found myself enjoying the task at hand. I LIKE to make others feel good and by leaving messages, having a brief conversation about how people are loving their S&D purchase, or telling someone I think she'd be a great stylist, I WAS HAPPY.
Heather Swett, a fabulous stylist on our team recently told a few of us how making these calls really gives her Instant Gratification and I couldn't agree more. Besides making others feel good and cared for, I enjoyed the challenge I put out for myself. I told myself that I'd make as many follow up calls as I could in one hour. My goal was 15. After numerous family interruptions (it is summer after all), I found myself at an hour without having met my goal. So, I just decided to power through.
End result? I made 26 calls in two hours and I felt GREAT! I actually felt like I do after a workout: proud, content, and ready to move on with the rest of my day.
So no matter what the end results are (I didn't book one show but left a LOT of messages and I know that good karma is going to come back around). Instead, I felt content, happy, and joyful to pat myself on the back and go about the rest of my day knowing I pushed the needle forward in my biz.
Here's a little bit about the wonderful Heather Swett herself:
Married for almost 12 years, Heather the mother of three children, Zach 9 and twins Madelyn and Mason 5. She have been selling for a little over two years.
"I started out very part time because I just loved the product. But then I started making money and it became very addictive and fun! I love adding new people to my team and sharing the joy and opportunity. I work part time from home for a dermatology office and my husband works full time +.
I also wanted to add that I noticed in my history that since I have started making phone calls regularly, my monthly sales has doubled and even tripled some months. It really works!" Check out her great tips...
A few tips from the fabulous Cindy Hanshaw on how she sold on the go:
I ended up with $200 in extra sales this month by seizing opportunities at a 4th of July social gathering!
How I did it:
- Wore several of my favorite pieces (as always) and had mini look books tucked into my bag
- Every time I got a compliment I encouraged the person to try it on and shared info about Stella & Dot
- At the end of the night I gave the interested folks a mini look book and got their contact info.
- On Monday I reached out with phone calls and took their orders!
It was so fun and effortless, and very casual. Even better, one of the customers is going to host a show in the Fall.
