Calico Cottage

February 2022

Julie continues to Embrace the Tradition while Exploring the Possibilities

in case you missed it in the January Newsletter I am repeating myself with....

"Continued Traditions"

  • Gift Certificates - if you have a gift certificate that expired in 2020 or 2021 - it is still good, we will still have gift certificates available for your gift giving.
  • Stamp Cards - we will honor past stamp cards and continue to stamp them for regular priced merchandise. A new look for the stamp card is happening, please ask to be included in this promotion. We will keep them in a file here at the store for you. No more keeping track of that little card.
  • Retreats - Sue will continue to sponsor the retreats, with some exceptions.
  • Bus Tours - Sue will continue to travel, maybe Julie will join her for the fun! There are still openings for Paducah April 22 thru May 1 of 2022.
  • Last Friday of the month sew day has had many names such as... "Friday Free Sew Day", or "Soup and Sew". This will continue as in the past with another new name "Sew....It's Friday" you will have the option most months to continue your sewing on Saturday. Since we are sewing upstairs, no registration is needed.
  • Scrappy Saturday continues with a new pattern available on the last Saturday of the month.
  • Wool Club continues to meet on the 4th Tuesday of the month from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM
  • Quilts of Valor will meet on the 3rd Wednesday of each month, from 9:30 AM to 2:30 PM.
  • Classes will be offered, continue reading below in the class schedule.

The possibilities - "Here' What's New"

  • All classes, clubs & special sew-ins will be offered on third floor for a more private atmosphere to create in. FYI there is an elevator for easy of accessibility with all your sewing gear.
  • Happy Hour - February 11th from 5 PM to 6 PM. So..... what is Happy Hour? Join Julie via zoom https://unl.zoom.us/j/91903684500 at 5:00 PM to be the first to experience what is "new" in the shop. The plan is to hold a special zoom connection once a month (on the second Friday of the month) so that customers can see what is new and ask questions live.
  • 12 Months of Christmas - Guess what Julie's favorite holiday is... yep it is Christmas and giving is one of her favorite things to do. Throughout the shop on the 25th of each month we will be celebrating Christmas with free patterns. In 2022 Calico Cottage will be featuring Christmas stockings. Julie's Xpression will be featuring beaded snowflakes. Blu J will be creating Christmas cards. Plum Nelly will be featuring mug rugs/cocktail coasters. Be sure to stop by on the 25th of each month for your freebies.
