Summer Community Service Opportunities at MHS
Matanzas is seeking student volunteers to help with various projects around campus this summer including organizing the textbook room, helping teachers move classrooms, get ready for orientation, and more. If you are available this summer and interested in earning Community Service Hours, please complete the Google Form below to get on our mailing list. When we have days that we will need students for projects, we will send out an email and a Remind text message for volunteers.
This Week's AP and AICE Testing Schedule and Information
Tuesday May 23rd AM - Biology (Candidates 3083-5035)
Check in for morning exams is 8AM, afternoon exam check in is 12:05PM. All exams will be in Building 10 (downstairs). If you have an afternoon test, go to first lunch and then check in for testing immediately after first lunch. If you arrive more than 10 minutes late for any test you will not be admitted!
Students must bring a photo ID and blue or black pens to testing (no pencils). Students may not bring backpacks, cell phones, purses or other items into the testing location. Find a secure location for those items prior to arriving for test check in. Water or snacks may only be brought in to the testing room in a clear package without labels.
Summer School Information
Summer School for students who need to remediate core courses (English, Math, Science and Social Studies) will be June 5 - June 22nd Monday through Thursday. Breakfast & Lunch will be provided for students and transportation will be provided for students residing in the Matanzas attendance zone.

Spotlight - Matanzas Riverkeeper Award Winners
Congratulations to two of our Environmental Science students, who participated in a recent competition through the Matanzas Riverkeeper and were recognized for their projects raising awareness about important topics in our area.
Malik Murray - Received a $500 prize for his Letter to the Editor, published on May 11 (Check it out here: https://www.observerlocalnews.com/news/2023/may/11/letters-protecting-american-coot-birds-habitats-is-crucial/)
Ruben Barreto - Won a new surfboard from Surf Station for his PowerPoint Presentation
Senior Class Information
Mandatory Graduation Rehearsal
All graduating seniors are required to participate in MANDATORY graduation practice in the MHS gym at 8:45AM on Friday, May 26th. Students do not need to bring or wear their cap and gowns to the rehearsal. .
Any senior who has not yet purchased parking passes for graduation, please bring cash to purchase parking passes for the Ocean Center. All vehicles parking at the Ocean Center for graduation will need a parking pass, the cost is $5 per pass.

Reminder - Graduating Senior Email Deactivation
Reminder to graduating seniors that Flagler Schools Google and email accounts will be deactivated on May 26th. If you use your school email to access any accounts you will need in the future, please make sure to change your email address to your personal email. This is especially important if you used this email for College Board, Khan Academy, Florida Bright Futures, or ACT. You should be able to go into settings on these accounts and change your email address.

Walk the Halls at Rymfire Elementary
- Park in any available parking space in the front parking lot or along the curb in the front parking lot.
- Seniors will enter the main entrance and upon entry report to the Media Center where they will start the walk.
- We will start around 10:15.

- Students arrive at 2:00pm and start the walk at 2:15pm
