Dorin Oxender, Principal of ITECH, and I have been keeping the District informed of the conversions. We remain hopeful that the issue will go before the CCPS School Board in the Spring. This week I will be attending a statewide director's meeting and hope to get more information .
The Florida Department of Education has released the final 2014-2015 CAPE Postsecondary Industry Certification Funding List. Each school district will be provided $1,000 for each industry certification on the funding list earned by a workforce education student as long as funds are available. LWIT teachers, it is critical that you review the list, as new ones have been added. Last year, Jack Izbicki's class earned over $30,000 which led to him to be able to get new computers. This year, they have added many of the Health Science Programs. As the list is not yet posted on the FLDOE website, Ray Smith will be emailing the list to LWIT teachers on Monday, 11/10.

Also, this past week, Marie Coleman, Khris Betten-Jutasi and Bruce Peters had an opportunity to attend the Miami Device conference where, alongside educators from throughout the U.S., they explored best practices student-centered learning, project based learning, classroom flipping and game based learning. Stay tuned for their sharing of information.
