What Will My Child Do in Freckle?
Your child can practice math and ELA skills in Freckle in many different areas. Your child’s teacher might assign certain skills to practice, and these assignments will appear in your child's dashboard. Also, your teacher may ask your child to practice in Freckle for a certain amount of time every day. The computer can even read many questions outloud if your child doesn't read yet.
Your child earns virtual "coins" for correct answers in Freckle. Then, your child can visit the “Piggy Store” to purchase decorations for their avatar, such as t-shirts, wigs, and accessories (no real money is ever used).
Here are the main areas of Freckle Math and Freckle ELA:
MATH
- Adaptive Math (K-5): Math practice at each student’s individual level
- Number Basics (K-2): Number recognition and counting practice
- Number Facts (K-2): Foundational addition and subtraction practice
- Fact Practice (K-5): Quick math operation drills
ELA
- Library (K-5): Hundreds of articles at each student’s individual reading level
- Skills Practice (K-12): Quick reading passages and questions
- Grammar (K-7): Capitalization and punctuation practice
- Sight Words (K-2): Practice with the most common words
- Word Study (K-5): Phonetics and word pattern practice
