Anorexia
Harms the body and mind
Anorexia is the most common cause of death between women ages 15-24 and it is the most long-term illness among teenagers. If nobody stands up and fights for this cause, people will continue to die. Death is one of the impacts of this disorder but during this time the body's parts start deteriorating so the person becomes frail. In our community we can educate our teens so they know the consequences of this disorder. The ANAD is a non-profit organization that creates programs and treatment to help alleviate and prevent the problems of anorexia.
Refusing to Eat
Anorexic people never want to eat food because of their fear of fat.
Distorted Body Image
Every time people with anorexia look in the mirror they see a fat person instead of what they really are, a bone-thin human.
Frail and Thin
Part of the consequences of this disorder is being so thin that your bones protrude and being so malnourished that even doing the simplest of tasks is a real challenge
