A New Start

Peru

Where it began

Sometimes we all need an escape from reality. My escape is to go far from everyone and everything I've ever known. I want to believe in something. I need to know someone truly cares for me. I have no answer to where I'm going in life. I watch as everyone around me grows and plans to start their life. I haven't even taken the steps I need to even start that process. I need to find something I actually enjoy. I need Machu Picchu. I need to have a spiritual connection to something greater than I know. I need to find myself.

The Steps

I want to go in early November. The weather this time of year in Peru resemble sunny, 60 degree days, when all the people want to show off their body.

In All Seriousness

My preferred choice of transportation would obviously be by flight. It's the cheapest option and the quickest. Two weeks in the fresh air in Peru is plenty enough time for me to find myself. If not I'll just stay until I die. It will cost me about $1,100 dollars for a round trip including my one suitcase I will be bringing. Before I go, I will first need to apply for a passport to leave the country. I found a good place to stay there, called the Inti inn hotel. Guests have described their stay as, "It's just the place to go if you're poor" and, "Only a few people have died there." It's cheap and the reviews seem honest. A few things I should pick up along the way are, a backpack, boots, a camera, and glasses along with a Hawaiian shirt to pull off that tourist look I'm going for. The estimated cost a day in Peru will cost me about $30 dollars. I'm just going to save all my money from my job and go crazy with it when I leave. Thanks to schooling and my passing grade of a D- in Spanish, I realized I don't need a interpreter. I need no training, considering the fact I'm hiking and not a complete moron. The guides say "it's one of the most spiritual places in the world" and that alone convinced me to go. This is what I need and what I must do for myself.
