Upcoming Pearson Math Training for K, 1st, 2nd and 4th
Attention K, 1st, 2nd, and 4th grade teachers - I'll be speaking with the Pearson Math Rep planning this PD opportunity on Feb 22.
At this time, I am planning on focusing this PD on Questioning and Discussion Techniques. Questioning and discussion are the only instructional strategies specifically referred to in Danielson's Framework for Teaching reflecting their central importance to teachers' practice.
Please let me know if you have any suggestions for the best topic to cover during this training.

- Pre-planning lesson focused on a math PD goal (such as: application of mathematical practices, or meeting the needs of all learners in a given lesson, or conferring or questioning and discussion techniques, etc)
- Teach the lesson in a classroom (you can choose to have Paula teach the lesson or a teacher)
- Teach the same lesson in a different classroom/same grade level (again, you can choose to have Paula teach this lesson or a teacher)
- Debrief as a group

Teacher Day:
- The typical teacher workday for Turrill teachers is from 8:40 – 3:45.
- On Collaboration or SIP/Staff Meetings the teacher workday is 7:50 - 3:45.
- 1-Hour Professional Development Days are from 7:40-8:40.

Office Protocol for Classroom Assistance
Classroom Behavior Emergency:
Follow these steps if a teacher contacts the office for support with a student due to a Behavior Issue where student/staff safety is compromised:
Step 1: Contact either the Principal, Dean of Students or Office Parapro
Step 2: Make an "All Call" on the PA if no response
"Staff -- Please excuse the interruption but assistance is needed in _______ room. Please respond to _______ room if you are able."
