From the Desk of Dr. Ricks
Parents and Friends,
What a wonderful book fair week we have had! From dressing as our favorite characters, to sharing donuts, to shopping with family, it has been a tremendous success. Thank you to all of the parents who volunteered their time with helping in the library, especially to our parent leaders, Jennifer Graham and Gretchen Pettis.
It was wonderful having so many visitors on campus for Grandparents' Day. We are glad that you were able to visit classrooms and meet teachers as the children showed off their campus!
The students have loved the beautiful weather this week. The cooler days made for much enjoyed recess and play breaks. Research shows that when children enjoy good physical activity, they learn better, so I think that we have had lots of good learning this week, and we are ready for even more in the days to come!
Warmly,
Dr. Ricks

A Celebration of Jackie Pope!
Mark your calendars for Sunday, October 1st. Following the 10:15am Holy Eucharist, we will hold a reception in Kilbourne Hall to honor Jackie Pope for his many years of service to Grace. Jackie has served as our Maintenance Supervisor since January 2010—he has done so with devotion and love for his church. Renée Coleman is in charge of this reception; please let her know if you would like to help. We are also collecting a “purse” for Jackie’s retirement. No amount is too large or too small to contribute. Please write “Jackie” on the memo line of your check and send it before September 25th.
