Training for Administrators

If you are a new administrator (or if you are not new, but would like a refresher on what to do if you suspect an employee may be under the influence), please plan on attending the annual training at Central Services on September 14, 2018 from 9:00-10:30. Unfortunately, we have already had to use this protocol for the 18-19 school year, and it is essential everyone on your team know what the proper steps are since timing is often imperative.

We Still Would Love to Have Your Feedback....

I know it is such a busy time, but if you have time to give us some feedback on the various goals for HR that we have been working on, we would greatly appreciate it. You can find the link here.

Have you Met.... Jennifer McArthur Gilliam

Another new face to HR, Jennifer works with Meredith Seibert and Mike Stacey. You will often times here her voice as she picks up their telephone line. However, if you can't get them and need to reach them, give Jennifer a call at 1040 to see if she can help.
Big picture

Are you interested?? Stakeholder Meetings for HR Issues...

We have several meetings coming up over the next couple of months to try and address issues we have heard from you. I have sent out some emails. However, we want to keep all fo you "in the loop". If you see one that you would like to be a part of, please don't hesitate to email me.

1- Examining transition time for "new employees". As you can imagine, HR receives many requests each year to allow "transition time" to train employees to move into new roles. This year, we have been faced with that question a lot and we want to provide a fair and consistent way to ensure that all employees/schools have the same opportunities while at the same time always being good stewards of district allocations. We would love the opportunity to gather a small group of leaders together and discuss this issue and how HR can be consistent and supportive in our work. On September 20, 2018 there is a secondary principals meeting at WKHS. We will plan on meeting right after that meeting concludes - roughly 12:15- in that same room at WKHS. '

2 - Grade level stipends for elementary and department chair supplements at middle/high-We have heard your feedback in regards to elementary grade level chair stipends and as part of that process will be examining department head and grade level chair stipends across all levels-elementary , middle , and high.

Nov. 16, 2018-8:30am Central Services-HR Conference Room

3- Age requirements for various job assignments/positions-We are in the process of trying to gather input so that we can be more consistent with our policies on the age(s) required to hold various positions in our district (ex: Instructional Substitutes must be 21). We don't want to make any decisions without talking through what is happening in our schools and the impact these age requirements are having (good or bad). As part of this examination, we have scheduled a meeting with a small focus group for Wednesday, September 19th, 2018 at Central Services in the HR Conference Room. This is also a good time to discuss other processes that impact you and your staff such as background checks,etc.. The meeting begins at 1:00.

How can we help you?

We value your input and are always looking for ways that we can serve you better. If there is something we can do, please don't hesitate to reach out.
