PSAT Registration is Quickly Approaching! Register Now, Space is Limited!
On WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 12, 2022, Juniors at EVHS are encouraged to take the PSAT/NMSQT exam. (High achieving Sophomores are also encouraged to take the PSAT as practice only.) The PSAT (Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test) provides feedback about college-readiness, is excellent practice for the SAT, and is also used by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation to determine National Merit Scholarship recipients in the class of 2024.
Test Date: Wednesday, October 12, 2022
Time: 8:00-11:45 a.m.
Location: Eastview High School
Registration opens Wednesday August 31st and closes Tuesday September 20, or when registration is full.
The cost is $30.00. Registration and payment must be made through MyPaymentsPlus.
IMPORTANT: After students have registered, students can come to the Counseling office during their 5th period to pick up their PSAT Official Student Guide. This guide has important PSAT Information, Test-taking advice and tips and an official practice test.
Your students EVHS test site location will be communicated via email and Schoology by Friday, October 7th, 2022.
Seniors!
Mark your calendar! Counselors will be meeting with all seniors in small groups the week of September 19th. This will take place during your social studies class. We will be discussing the following:

Please plan to have your iPad charged and ready to go. This will be a time to get all of your college/career planning questions answered! If you have individual questions after your small group seminar, we encourage you to set up a meeting with your counselor.

Experience MN- U of MN
Experience Minnesota is a high-energy, once-a-year event that gives students (Seniors to Freshman) the chance to experience how, as a U of M student, they can expand their horizons, discover new passions, and accomplish their dreams. Students will learn more about our outstanding academics and unique opportunities to enhance their college experience. At Experience Minnesota, students will have the opportunity to:

Ready, Set, FAFSA!
Are you or someone you know applying to college this year? We can help!
Join us this fall for a series of college and financial aid webinars created specifically for students and families to help them prepare for the college-going process.
All sessions will be on Tuesday evenings and approximately one hour long with a short presentation from financial aid experts. Interpreters will be available in Spanish, Hmong and Somali. And, your questions will be answered live in the chat. Students who attend these sessions will be entered into a drawing to win a $500 scholarship!
Suggested audience: 10th, 11th, 12th grade students and their parent(s)/guardian(s)

Macalester Workshop Wednesday Recorded Sessions

School Supplies Available for EVHS Students in Need
If your student needs supplies, please send them to the Counseling Office. We have supplies including notebooks, pens, pencils, padlocks for gym lockers, pocket folders, graphing paper, index notecards and more. We also have new backpacks!
Eastview High School Virtual Calm Room
Park Nicollet's Growing Through Grief Support Group
Park Nicollet’s Growing Through Grief counselor, Jenny Simmonds, will be offering a weekly grief group for Eastview students who have experienced the death of a significant family member (parent, sibling, caregiver, etc.). If your teen is living with loss and you think they could benefit from participating in a grief group, please contact Molly Wellik at molly.wellik@district196.org and we will connect with your student regarding their interest.
