Congratulations Rishi Kondapaneni!
Rishi Kondapaneni currently has a 4.51 GPA, has scored a 35 on the ACT, and is ranked first in his class at Liberty. He serves as the vice president of the National Honor Society and is the public relations officer for HOSA. He has been a member of Student Council for three years and has also served as that group’s public relations officer. Rishi has played varsity tennis for four years, serves as captain of the Scholar Bowl team, and is a member of the Ping Pong Club. He has attended Missouri Boys State and Missouri Scholars Academy. Rishi enjoys playing piano and is a third-degree black belt in taekwondo. In 2013, he placed third overall at the Yong Moo Kwan World Invitational Tournament in Chicago, Illinois. He hopes to attend Stanford University or the University of Michigan and major in biology/pre-med.
To become a finalist, the semifinalist and their high school must submit a detailed scholarship application in which they provide information about the student’s academic record, participation in school and community activities, demonstration of leadership abilities, and honors and awards received. A semifinalist must have an outstanding academic record throughout high school, be endorsed and recommended by a high school official, write an essay, and earn SAT/ACT scores that confirm the student’s earlier performance on the qualifying test. Scholarships are underwritten by NMSC with its own funds and by approximately 420 business organizations and higher-education institutions that share NMSC’s goals of honoring the nation’s scholastic champions and encouraging the pursuit of academic excellence.
