Healesville Primary School
Week 3- Term 3- Friday 30th July 2021
From the Principal's Desk…
Dear Parents and Carers,
It is great to be back at school with onsite learning. I actually think the teachers may be happier than the students.
As you will have seen by my recent dojo we have much tighter restrictions to operate under for the next few weeks. Many of our planned activities have had to be cancelled and we are not allowed to have non-essential visitors onsite. What this means is that parents are not allowed to walk their students to the classroom or pick them up from the classroom. You will need to ensure your child/children know where you will be collecting them from at the end of the day. Our teachers will walk their classes out at the end of the day, and we will have staff onsite at each of our three entrances. Please ensure that you are following the social distancing guidelines when waiting outside the school entrances.
Parents are allowed to come to the school office for payments etc. Please ensure that you are wearing a face mask and sign in using the QR code. Following density limit guidelines, we can only have one visitor to the office at a time so please wait outside undercover if is someone is ahead of you.
The following events have been postponed for the moment.
- · Tree planting for the grade three/ fours
- · Swimming for the grade three / fours
- · I fly excursion
- · Face to face parent teacher interviews
- · Playgroup
- · Visits to kindergartens by captains
- · Assemblies
Even though we have had to postpone assemblies our students will still receive awards from their teachers for following our school values. These will also be listed in our newsletter.
Parent teacher interviews will still be on Tuesday 3rd August, however will now be held via webex as we are unable to offer them face to face. Your child’s teacher will be contacting you shortly to organise the process.
Over the past few weeks, we have had eight new students enrol with us and I would like to welcome the MacMillan, Whitmore, Rickard and Prendergast families to our school. Thank you for choosing us for your children’s education.
We are still taking Prep enrolments for 2022, if you have a child that will be starting prep next year and you have not enrolled, please pop into the office for an enrolment form. If you know of anyone who has a child starting prep next year, please suggest that they come and see us asap. Unfortunately, I cannot take tours at the moment, but we do have lots of information on our website, including a virtual tour.
Thank you to Rosie House for looking after our chickens during lockdown and for the new member to the brood. Our students were very excited that we had a new chicken. Don’t forget we sell our eggs to the community for $5:00 a dozen. At the moment we only have one egg, but they are back and laying.
Bendigo Bank in conjunction with HPS are giving us the opportunity to raise funds for our school. Please read the information further on in the newsletter and let’s see how many marbles can go into the HPS jar.
