Good day Bryan Middle Parents and Students,
We made it through our first week of Hybrid teaching and our students and teachers did a wonderful job! As always, safety is a top priority, so here are a few reminders:
- If a student is ill, he or she should stay home.
- Face coverings are required and must be worn over the mouth and nose, besides when actively easting in the cafeteria.
- Students are always to remain socially distanced.
- A face covering
- A fully charged iPad with all cables
- Books that were checked out for the day
- Keyboard and headset
- Pen and paper
Starting this week, we will start counting tardies to class. As a reminder, classes start promptly at 7:40 AM. We encourage you having your student dropped off at 7:30 to make it to class on time.
Second Week Schedule: For your planning for the second week:
October 12: Blue Group in person/yellow group virtual; B Day
October 13: Blue Group in person/yellow group virtual; A Day
October 14: Yellow Group in person/blue group virtual; B Day

Parent Teacher Conferences: Bryan Middle Schools parent teacher conferences will be 100% virtual this school year. No need to come to Bryan Middle school! These conferences will take place on October 14 and 15. On Tuesday evening, we communicate with all of our learners about booking parent teacher conferences. Each student received a link in their email with a specific person that will run the student-led conference. If you have not seen this link, please join your student in logging in to Outlook, their email, and looking for an email from Andrew Karmazin. You should book conferences under the student’s name and with their email address. A few things to note:
1.) Conferences are student-led, with your student walking you through the grade reflection sheet.
2.) The assigned teacher is the facilitator on the conference and will keep you and your student on track for the conversation, plus add a few extra items.
3.) The conference will need to be booked on the students iPad utilizing the students email address and Microsoft Teams. This booking will create an automatic meeting for your selected time on Microsoft Teams.
4.) You will book your conference with the one teacher assigned to the student. To still allow for student-led conference, a practice we believe in at BMS, we are utilizing teachers as facilitators for the conference.
5.) If you have questions for individual teachers, please email them your questions, and they will get back to you.
School Photos: We have booked scholastic photos for October 27 and 28. If you are a 100% remote student, we are working on a day for you to come to BMS to get your photos.
100% remote/Remote Learning Days: On remote learning days and for students electing to stay 100% remote, students should sign into their iPad and into Microsoft Teams following the listed bell schedule. Students are required to attend daily during the designated time frames.

Counseling News
Hello Bear Family-
it is hard to believe that first quarter is already over! This has been a unique school year, but we are all doing our best with what we have. This quarter counselors were able to make it into classrooms to discuss college and provide some virtual tours. We are excited to continue to work with our students 2nd quarter.
It was great to see students in the hallway. This last week also marked the beginning of Naviance lessons on Tuesdays during CUBS. The first assignment was to complete a Personal Learning Plan (PLP). We are very excited to go over those with our students. Be sure to have your student log in to Naviance and complete it if they haven’t done so already. Also, ask your student to share their personal learning plan with you. I’m sure you would enjoy reading themes well.
Hope you all have a great student led conference this week!
