Architecture Students Build a Sturdy Bench
Principal Siciliano believes in his Arch 1 students' abilities and takes a seat on a bench built entirely out of cardboard without tape or glue (or anything else) holding it together.
The project started by recognizing the opportunity for a bench in their classroom entrance and imagining a structure that could support the weight. Next came the drawing of plans and elevations at a chosen scale of 1"=5", followed by the construction phase.

Community Outreach
Sign up for our Community and Culture Day at JJHS!
The BEAT met in November to initiate the planning for a Community and Culture Day at JJHS. After careful consideration of various events scheduled for November and December, the team concluded January-February would be a more suitable timeframe for the event. The final decision was to combine the theme of love and friendship with a community-wide celebration in February. This decision allows us to establish this event as an annual celebration of diversity within our community.
We are looking for community members to volunteer for this event. For more information and to sign-up, please click on the flyer above.

Hello Seniors, and welcome to the Senior Internship Experience 2024!
In Schoology, under “Groups,” please join the JJHS Senior Independent Experience – 2024 group. The Access Code is: N3NS-6K82-VX94Q. You may propose your own internship experience. However, if you are unsure what you’d like to do, we have some interesting options for you to explore. We will discuss this further at our first mandatory SIE meeting on January 30, 2024.

Keep Kids Moving All Winter
A message from Cohen's Children Medical Center:
For most of us, as the temperature drops so does our activity level. But keeping active year-round is essential for everyone (not just kids) in maintaining a healthy weight, preventing the risk of chronic diseases, improving cardiovascular health, and building strong muscles and bones.
What’s more, among children and adolescents, increased physical activity has been shown to help improve attention, memory, executive functioning, processing speed, and cognition – all of which boost academic performance – and reduce the risk of depression.
