Why be safe?
Food safety has many pros and absolutely no cons, why wouldn't you choose to be safe? Many people in earlier times died from not using safety. Would you want your children to die early?

What can you do?
Never cook for your family when you are sick. It is so easy to contaminate food when you are sick. Always wear an apron when you are cooking to avoid harm to yourself. Make sure there are no animals near you when cooking otherwise they may contaminate the food.
