CRI - Partnering w/ Families @ Home
Canyon Ridge Intermediate 4_4_20 During Covid-19 Pandemic
Letter from Mrs. Blackwell & Mr. Meiwes -
Dear CRI Families,
We miss our students and families so much! Kids bring such energy, enthusiasm and JOY to each day! Homeroom teachers are so excited to begin reaching out to you and your kids next week. Teachers have been working extremely hard this week to develop a plan that is engaging for students and doable for you!
Our goal in this letter and newsletter is to SIMPLIFY the LEARNING PLANS rolled out by the district & help make them easier for you to use. Activities are organized on one page documents (Week-At-a-Glance) designed to engage kids in review, practice and enrichment and help them maintain skills they have learned throughout this year. Our plan is to encourage our students (and you), to empathize with the struggles that have or may come throughout this process and help kids have some fun along the way!
We understand you will have questions, and we will do our best to answer them promptly. We ask for your patience, your grace, and your understanding as we work together through this new process. We care about you and your child and want to help in every way possible. Your child and family are important to us and will remain in our hearts and prayers through these difficult times. Together we will help your children finish the school year strong and make sure they know we are here to support them and miss them everyday!
WHAT SHOULD MY CHILD DO EACH WEEK?
- Read 20 minutes per day
- Do activities from the one page document. It's a WEEK-AT-A-GLANCE! Think of it as a choice board.
- There are 5 pages in all. Just look at one per week, because it is a Page of Ideas for the Week. It's fun, engaging & will help your child maintain their skills & learning! Everything else is extra and optional.
LEARNING PLANS are in an EASY "WEEK-AT-A-GLANCE" FORMAT!
KIDS & PARENTS only need to LOOK AT ONE PAGE PER WEEK.
- One page lists activities for the week.
- They are named Week 1, Week 2, etc.
- There are 5 pages for the estimated 5 weeks remaining in school
Everything else on the District Learning Site is EXTRA & OPTIONAL!
Each week, your student will have a one page WEEK-AT-A-GLANCE:
You may do all activities with your child or choose a couple from each subject to practice.
5 Reading Tasks - 30 minutes daily (Ideally, 1 per day or choose a couple per week)
5 Math Tasks - 30 minutes daily (Ideally, 1 per day or choose a couple per week)
