Update from AVUHSD
December 10, 2020
Second Semester Update
We will begin the second semester on January 11, 2021, with all students participating in the “At-Home” Learning Model. We will monitor this ever-evolving situation throughout the winter break and provide updates as new information becomes available. Our commitment to ensuring the continuity of learning, while mitigating the spread of COVID-19, continues to guide our decision-making. We eagerly await the opportunity to return all students to our school campuses when health conditions permit.
Meal Service Update
Happy Holidays from everyone in Food Services. In honor of the winter break and upcoming holidays, Food Services will provide a 5-day meal kit from all eight comprehensive high schools from 11:00 to 1:00 on Friday, December 18th. Meal kits include breakfast and lunch for all eligible persons 18 years and younger.
Meal service will continue at all service locations through Friday, December 18, 2020, and will resume meal distribution on Monday, January 11, 2021.

Student Support and Program Information
As many of you may know, funding for public schools can often be confusing. Many programs and opportunities come to our students based upon the household income information from the families we serve. Not only can students receive free or reduced meals, but they can also get fee waivers for the PSAT or SAT, free college applications, and much more. Please help us provide the best opportunities that we can for our students by taking a few minutes to fill out the link below. If you don’t know the answer to some of the questions (like your student’s ID number) you can just skip those steps. Thank you for helping us provide the very best for our students!
Mental Health Supports
We remain committed to the continued Mental Health Support for all our students. To access Mental Health Support through the district please call 661-418-2309. A School Mental Health provider is available from 7:30 am - 12:00 pm and 12:30 pm - 3:00 pm, Monday - Friday. Click HERE to find additional resources. If you need immediate support please call 911.
We have also created a calming site for parents. Please visit by clicking HERE.

Eastside High School Walk of Honor
EHS is proud to showcase our first three scholar inductees into our Walk of Honor! Congratulations to Dymond Guilford, Joshua Kelley, and Toni Aleman for your academic, athletic and musical achievements! All three of our initial inductees highlight all of the traits expected of our Lions. We are proud to honor them with campus banners highlighting their success. We are looking forward to adding many more alumni to our Walk of Honor. Will you be next?
