Why Mathematical Practices Matter as Much as the Content
It seems that many students' goals during math class is focused around getting the "correct answer," and not the process in which they use to get there. In the article, titled "Why Mathematical Practices Matter as Much as the Content," the author, a teacher himself, discusses the importance of students fortifying their knowledge of math while working through the mathematical practices. These practices teach students how to approach math problems so that they in turn become better at math, by being able to make sense of and defend their answers with facts. To read more, click here.
