Dear Longhorn Families,
We are so excited to celebrate another school year with you so welcome again to the 2021-2022 school year! We are off to an amazing start with attendance and have also been fortunate to keep protocols in place to keep our community safe. Thank you for all you are doing in partnership to help ease the transition back to in person learning. Building a strong sense of school connectedness and a positive school climate is tough work and is made even more challenging in our pandemic setting. Nevertheless, we persist! We have so many updates that you cannot see but some of the visual ones are two brand new playgrounds, new paint in the hallways/classrooms, and both the gymnasium and the auditorium have also been updated. We are nearing the end of our 3 year construction project with a brand new roof and structural system and we thank you for your patience through this time. We spent the first part of the quarter reengaging students, building community, learning more about our students, their own lived experiences, and while also setting community expectations. Even through our challenges, we understand the importance of teamwork and grace towards others. We are thankful to our support staff, who do so much, both seen and unseen, that make our school run smoothly. You all are a big part of our network not support. We are grateful for your flexibility, your patience as we iron out arrival and dismissal to ensure the safety of our students. We know the new health protocols may cause annoying inconveniences every now and then. Please know it is a big part of running a school year close to normal. Together as the Longhorn Community we are reflecting, reengaging, and renewing for 2022 because as the pandemic has taught us, We are better together! Thank you again for the opportunity to serve and for your part in making sure we continue to "Love It" at Lovett! Be safe, Be Healthy, Be Well!
