Principal's Message
Dear Trailblazer Families,
It is with great excitement and enthusiasm that we share the reopening of schools may be approaching the week of March 15, 2021.
Communications will continue to come from TVUSD and it will provide you with the information you need to gather insight. Please look for an email message tomorrow regarding your original Learning Preference selection and how to make changes. Our commitment is to provide the learning model that works for your student (Online or On-Campus) but we are unable to accomodate AM/PM preferences. Please update your Parent Portal to identify the most up to date contact and email information. If you need any help with the Parent Portal please contact the front office between 8am-4pm.
The elementary timeline is as follows:
- Friday, 2/19 - Elementary families will receive site-specific information to help visually understand what the return to on-campus learning within the AM/PM model will look like.
- Monday, 2/22 - Elementary families will receive electronic communication to confirm their previously selected program. The communication will ask you to reconfirm or change your choice by Friday, 2/26.
- Monday, 3/1 through Wednesday, 3/3 - Sites will revise class lists as necessary and align staffing. The goal will be to make as few class assignment changes as possible.
- Thursday, 3/4 and Friday, 3/5 – Families will be notified of their students’ assignments.
- Thursday, 3/4 through Friday, 3/12 – Staff and families will have time to make daycare, drop-off/pick-up, and work schedule modifications as needed.
- Thursday, 3/11 and Friday, 3/12 - These will be asynchronous learning days, so teachers will have time to prepare classrooms.

Virtual Jog-A-Thon!
Jog-A-Thon UPDATE!
our shirts. Are you an aspiring artist or do you love drawing? Do you have a parent or grandparent that wants to work with you to come up with a great logo? Think about our school colors and our Trailblazer mascot for ideas - get creative! Any idea is a great one!
The deadline for submissions is Friday, February 26th so you have one week! Take a photo and send it to the email provided below. As you know the donation website is now LIVE! Click on the link, then click on ADD PARTICIPANT and you can create your very own page and link to
send to friends and families! (This year since we aren't running at school and not running laps, the website will accept flat donations).
We are so proud of our TTES community for coming together for the PTA fundraisers from this fall (donation and membership drive). We have always had so much excitement and success surrounding our jogathon as it is when we typically raise the most for our school. In fact, our jogathon has historically been one of the most successful of all of our district elementary schools - this year will be no different! We realize this has been an unforgettable year (in many ways) and we want to make this jogathon STAND STRONG as well! And it surely will with your help!
For our families who have ties to businesses, we present a unique opportunity this year: business donations will be graciously accepted and business donors will have their names printed right on the jogathon t-shirts for our community to see and be proud of! Business
donation forms will be available next week.
And don't forget AWARDS! Top classes and top individual earners will be recognized and receive awards. Let's get excited - we have so much to look forward to with the return to school, return to seeing friends and teachers everyday, and the return of one of our great school traditions in our school jogathon. We are TONY TOBIN STRONG together!

VAPA Update
Library Curbside Service
Curbside Library will be available to students, grades 1st-5th, beginning THIS Tuesday, February 23rd.
Library books will be available for pick up on the days and times provided below.
Tuesdays 1-3 pm
Wednesdays 1-3 pm
***Any books not picked up by Wed. afternoon, will be checked back into the library.***
Procedures for placing books on holds are as follows:
- You will need to download the App from the Tony Tobin Web page. (Click Academics, then Library). When you get to the Library page scroll down to Search Destiny Discover and click on that. The Destiny Discover page will open. When you get to Destiny Discover in the upper right hand corner, there is a box with an arrow up. When you click on the Arrow up, the drop down list will appear and click add to the home screen. This will create an app on your home screen. The Destiny Discover App we are using is an Orange and Blue Diamond. You can also access it through the Library Bitmoji classroom. Click on the link (found on the white board) named Destiny Discover.
- From there, you will need to log into Google using your student id and password (same login used on all other programs).
- To find the library books you wish to check out, search by either - Title, Author, or Genre. Once you have decided on the perfect book(s), Click hold, making sure in the top left corner of the book there is a green IN, indicating it is available. If you see a red OUT, that means it has already been checked out by another student, so you will have to select a different book.
- ALL BOOKS WILL NEED TO BE PLACED ON HOLD BY THE FRIDAY, BEFORE TUESDAY'S PICKUP. We are unable to fill student requests after the Friday cut off.
****Students have been instructed on how to place library books on hold through our library system during our weekly ZOOM MEETINGS.***
Procedures for Picking up Library books during Curbside Library are as follows:
- Tables will be placed in front of the school by grade level. Please be sure to look for the slip with your student's name on it. We will do our best to keep books checked out to siblings together.
- Students may check out new books each week, as long as they have returned the books from the previous week.
RETURNS: A blue bin will be placed outside, next to the tables for book returns. Once books are dropped in the blue bin, they are considered "IN QUARANTINE." For your safety, Please DO NOT take any books out of the blue bin.
Happy Reading Trailblazers,
