PTA Memberships-Can we get 100%
We are 24 memberships away from our goal of 100%. If you are one of the 24, please give consideration to joining. Your membership helps provide student incentives, 2 scholarships, staff luncheons, and many other projects around campus, such as the 500 composition books purchased earlier this year. Membership dues are only $6.
This is $6 put to great use.
Thank you!
Classroom Visits this Week
Classroom Visits this Week
This week as we make our classroom visits we will be looking to see how you are working in the Power Zone. You will recall that the Power Zone is one of the 5 activities we studied in "Fundmental Five." When working in the power zone, you are in close proximity to students or to groups of students. You are able to keep on-task behaviors at a maximum and keep discipline misbehaviors to a minimum. You are also able to conduct ongoing formative assessments which allows you to intervene on the spot and make clarifying statements or reteach difficult concepts. Let's be in the zone!

Rate Yourself
Please use the link below to a Google form. Based on the first six weeks, how would you rate yourself on the TTESS domains? Please be honest. This will help us determine the direction we need to take on our side to provide you with any support you may need.
Another benefit this provides is that it keeps you familiar with the various TTESS rubrics. Some of the descriptors from one level to another are a bit subtle. Be sure you read them carefully. We will ask you to do this each six weeks. Again, this is for feedback and support opportunities.
Thanks!
Critical Opportunities
We've talked about our campus rating. I know we have the right team to pull our ratings up. We each possess unique talents and we each have our weaknesses. But collectively, we are a strong team and we compliment one another very well. Let's share our strengths in our department PLCs and honestly and sincerely look at where our students are and discuss how we can move each one forward. We need to help one another but also hold one another accountable.
We tell our students that the first step to achieving success is to believe that we will be successful. We must do that ourselves. Please look at your data dives as something positive. We should be thinking like medical doctors and be prescriptive when it comes to our student groups and our interventions. A doctor does not prescribe the same medications for every patient he or she has because not every patient needs that medication. Neither does every student you have need the same intervention.
One way we can provide in-day interventions is to use our data and tier our students. Decide with your department who will work with which tier, and then provide them with the activities and reteaching they need. These groups should be changing every week as students are becoming more confident and more successful.
Let's make this happen!
