Working..
Working days were very long and harsh on the workers during the industrial revolution. They had just started opening up mills and such factories. children ranging from 3 to 5 years old were working in the factories doing various jobs like pushing coal carts up the track. (as shown below)

Work days were long they had many different jobs and machines to maintain at the factories. The pay was equivalent to like a few dollars these days. To also mention that women were hired more often because they felt they could adapt and be controlled better. It was not equal for the women because they had got half the pay as what the men had gotten and children got literally one shilling per week..
Working places..
Coal mines were places where children worked at a young age. Many people worked in the mines in the that time. Other places they worked at was the like mills and in the water works.
