PGMS Special Olympic's Send Off Information for Staff - Monday May 20th at 8:15am
At the conclusion of the morning announcements, students and staff will be asked to stand outside their classroom and line up along the lockers. Foreign language, library, computer and PE classes will line the bridge area to cheer our student athletes on.
• As soon as announcements are done (no later than 8:15), we begin our parade through the school. We start down by the art room and we walk down the 6th grade hallway to the far stairwell. We will go up to the 3rd floor and walk through that hall and then come down the center stairwell and out to the bridge and onto the bus. Our PGMS athletes will leave at 8:30.
As students and staff stand in the halls, they all cheer, clap, and high-five the athletes. Once we pass the classrooms, teachers will have students return to the classroom and begin instruction. It is not too long of a process, but really means the world to the athletes knowing that their school is cheering them on and supporting them.
ADDITIONALLY, we have always asked students and staff to wear their Special Olympics shirts or Pottsgrove/maroon shirts that day. Any staff that purchased one of our Special Olympics shirts is encouraged to wear their shirt that day.
