Chris's Corner
Welcome Spring! Well, at least the month that has Spring Break, 'spring'-ing ahead for Daylight Savings on March 11, and (hopefully) some more 'spring'-like weather like we have already experienced! At PTA, we will be 'spring'-ing into our activities this month as we head toward the end of our school year. First, I would like to take a moment and thank all the parents and staff for all three of our classroom parties for the grade levels this year. What wonderful times the students have had! And PTA could not do all of this without volunteers like you - who plan, donate time and supplies, and run our parties. We have a few more activities to be involved in this year, so don't hesitate to jump right in if you haven't (or had) had the opportunity to volunteer yet.
This month, we have our PTA meeting on Monday, March 5 at 6:30pm in the Media Center. We will be conducting some important business in this meeting - voting in our Executive Board for next year!
Still to come are our STEMscope Family Night, English Landing Variety Show and Staff Appreciation Week. Look for more information soon on these activities. And, of course, you won't want to miss the Eleventh Annual English Landing Student and Staff Basketball Game on Thursday, March 15 from 6:00pm - 8:00pm in the Lakeview Middle School gym. This is a fun night for everyone! Come to check out our staff and students showing off their shooting prowess as well as support a great cause by participating in the Silent Auction and Grade Level Flat-Bid Items. Book Fair
English Landing Family!
Thank you so much for your participation in our Spring Scholastic Book Fair. We surpassed our goal of $4,000 with a total sales of $6,555! This equates to 1,311 books sold and 235,980 reading minutes. How amazing! Thank you to the family members, students, and EL staff who made this possible. All of our proceeds will go to support the Media Center.
Variety Show - May 4
Does your student like to sing, dance, tell jokes, do magic tricks, or entertain a crowd? Then the English Landing Variety show is their chance to shine! This year's Variety Show will be held Friday evening, May 4th.
Forms will be due Wednesday, April 4th. The Variety Show act previews will be held Monday, April 16th from 1:30-3:30. Dress rehearsal will be Thursday, May 3rd at 4pm.

Park Hill Clothing Center
Tuesday, March 6th and Tuesday, March 27th are the regular shopping days at the Park Hill Clothing Center in March. We are in need of volunteers to help with sorting and hanging clothes in the various rooms while shoppers are in the center. We will be open 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on both days and 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on the 6th. If possible, please plan to arrive 15 minutes prior to the opening so you have time to ask questions and get started before shoppers enter. Feel free to park in the gravel lot beside the Clothing Center.
Thank you for your help in keeping the service available to the children in our district.

PTA committee highlight of the month - Treasurer
This month is: Treasurer
The treasurer is a year long position and this person usually works 8-10 hours a month for this position. The busiest time of year for the treasurer is Back-to-school night, during fundraisers, and prepares for the monthly meeting. The treasurer must have strong money management skills, math and accounting skills, and organizational skills. Other items include reconciling bank statements and balance books on a monthly basis. Receive check requests and distribute checks as well as submit audit and annual financial reports to MO PTA. These are just a few of the responsibilities for the treasurer.
Our current treasurer is Ginger Gimple. Thank you Ginger for all of your hard work! We appreciate you!
