Principal's Corner
January 16th
January PLC's
On Wednesday, January 17th we will be doing a whole group benchmark data analysis in the conference room. We needed to move benchmark data analysis from T & L in order to make room for collaboration around PLC agreements.
Data Chats
On January 22nd and 23rd , we will be having our end of the quarter Data Chats. Data chats are an opportunity for teachers to meet with admin. and reflect on their benchmark data. It will also be an opportunity for teachers to check-in on their goals and share any beginning work they've started or evidence they've collected. A roving sub will be here both days, and a schedule will be coming out towards the end of this week. Data chats last approximately 20 minutes and the data chat form will be completed with content teams during our PLC on Wednesday, January 17th.
Classroom Redesign
Below is a message that Nora sent out before we went on break. Our math classrooms went through this process during Fall break of this year and their rooms received new furniture with flexible seating and arrangements.
We are starting the 2nd phase of our classroom redesign project in Exeter. If you are interested in being a part of Phase 2 please take the following survey. Survey must be submitted no later than January 12th to be considered for phase 2. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
Quarter 3 Speaking and Listening
During Quarter 3, each department (SS/ELA/Science) is being asked to plan for students to engage in 2 practice opportunities with Speaking and Listening Standards 2 & 3. 6th grade will only need to do 2 total for ELA/SS block. It would be good for departments to do one with an informational audio (Standard 2) and one with argumentative (Standards 3). Please work together in your PLC to plan for implementation of these practice opportunities during Quarter 3.
