Middle School Swimming
Southwestern Middle School Swimming will begin on Monday, February 8th! Practices will take place Mondays-Fridays from 3pm until 4:30pm at the High School Pool. Fifth grade students are eligible to participate on the Middle School Swim Team. They will need a note from their parents to the elementary office stating that they are allowed to walk to the High School Pool, or be let off their bus at the high school after school each day for practice. Parents, you will need to pick your child up after practice each day at the pool at4:30pm. The pool is located behind the High School next to the gym.
Middle School Swim season runs from February until Spring Break in March. Most swim meets are home meets. Team swimsuits will be ordered and are usually under $30...these are not required, but are recommended.
If your student would like to participate in Middle School Swim, he/she will need to have a practice swimsuit, towel, and goggles (recommended) for practice on that Monday. We also recommend that they have a drink or water bottle and a snack for after school as they will be hungry. Your student will also be required to have a sports' physical in order to compete. If he/she already has one of file this school year from another sport, that will be fine. If you student needs one, forms can be picked up at the pool or school offices.
Attached is the calendar for this swim season. If you have any questions, please contact Shelly Anderson Hamilton at the elementary or call 866-1195.
