NewsELA... Amazing Reading Website
The Reading/ELA teachers wanted to share a wonderful online resource with you to help your child engage in active reading while at home. NewsELA is a website that offers current event news articles that can be leveled according to your child's reading and/or lexile level. Once the students read the text, there are comprehension quizzes that immediately follow the article to help monitor their understanding. This is an amazing resource that they can use as their 20 minutes of daily reading practice, so get them started, and watch them learn and grow!!
A Note From Mr. Thompson...
Be on the lookout for the Bentley Campus Climate Survey this December. All parents will receive an email to take this survey, or you can take it online—just click the link at the top of the Bentley webpage. Staff and students will also participate in this anonymous survey. Please let us know what you think about Bentley—because in Lamar CISD, we want to hear Your Voice!
If you have any questions about our Campus Climate Survey, please feel free to contact the Lamar CISD Community Relations office at (832) 223-0330. All results will be posted online by February for you to review.
Bentley Building Update:
We are excited to announce that based on the most recent information given to us by the district, it appears that we will be moving into our new building in January!!! As thrilled as we are about this exciting new adventure, there are some things that you might want to consider ahead of time. If your child attends daycare before or after school (other than Gingerbread), you may want to contact the daycare itself and let them know that starting in January, your child should be picked up/dropped off at the new Bentley Elementary school, and not Hubenak any longer. Another exception to this would be if your child attends Kids-R-Kids Bella Terra, as they have already been contacted by the school and arrangements have been made to relocate their transportation services. We are ecstatic about moving into our new home!!!
