A Word from Mrs. Wolf
Welcome to January! We have had a terrific first half of the school year. Our students are working hard to live up to the Patriot Promise and have earned over 300 recognition cards for their efforts. I am so proud that they are developing important life skills and learning to lead others. Earlier this fall we enjoyed an education exhibition during which students shared their learning and explained their growth as students. Many of you attended and were engaged in learning with our students. One of the core values of Kingsport City Schools is to "engage our families and community". Additionally, our service projects through the holiday season have enabled our students to learn about others who need our support and that even simple acts such as making cards and singing can brighten someone's day. We believe that it really does take parents, teachers, students and community to help our students succeed. As our teachers spend today preparing, we are eagerly awaiting the return of the wonderful students at GWES on Tuesday, January 5th.
Order your GWES yearbook. ON SALE now through January 29th. The cost of each book is $21.00
Winter weather alert! Who knows what the future holds...
This time of year we often worry about the weather and how it impacts traveling to and from school. Kingsport City Schools will communicate by phone, email, and/or text message and schedule changes beginning at 6:00 A.M. We will be either on snow schedule (1 hour delay), a two hour delay, or closed. We are a Kingsport City School-we do NOT close if Hawkins County closes.
