Crestview Elementary PTA
Week of October 30, 2023
HALLOWEEN PARADE & CLASS CELEBRATION INFORMATION:
*Mrs. Hillmon will communicate PreK's Halloween plans with PreK families.
TIME:
- Family check-in begins at 1:20 at the main entrance to lessen the line after the parade.
- Parade begins at 1:40 (outside in the front main car loop; students will walk on the sidewalk; families may stand in the grass; weather permitting)
- Class parties will begin directly after the parade and will end by 2:50 in order to allow time for dismissal.
NEED TO KNOW INFORMATION:
- Students may come to school in their school appropriate costume (see guidelines below), if they will be comfortable in it for the whole school day. If students plan to wear costumes, please be aware they could potentially get damaged due to students participating in recess, lunch, and PE.
- Students will not be able to change into their costumes once they arrive at school. If students do not want to wear their costume, they can choose to wear orange and black or other Halloween themed attire.
- Please let your child's teacher know if your child will not be participating and will need an alternate setting during the parade and party.
- If the parade is moved inside, communication will take place in the morning via email and families will be in the gym to watch the parade.
- All families will be required to check-in at the main entrance and will receive a visitor sticker before entering the building.
- Class celebrations will begin directly after the parade and will end by 2:50 in order to allow time for dismissal.
- Families who come to the class party have the option to take their child home directly after the party. They do not need to check out of the office if they let the classroom teacher know.
- Only pre-packaged snacks or gadgets are allowed and will be pre-arranged by the room parent/PTA. Information will be coming from your classroom teacher and Room Parents. Students will not be able to hand out things they bring from home unless it is pre-approved by the classroom teacher and nurse.
- The front office will have a list of Room Parents approved to enter prior to 1:20.
COSTUME GUIDELINES:
- Costumes should allow access for students to use the bathroom and costumes should not require teacher assistance. Students will still be participating in recess and PE.
- Minimal props. Costumes that require carrying any extra and/or unsafe items such as skateboards, surfboards, swords, guns, spears, etc. are not acceptable.
- No pacifiers, false teeth, or anything placed in the mouth.
