Kindergarten Jackson Pride Assemblies

Every month we will come together as an entire Kindergarten group to celebrate those who have shown "Jackson Pride" for the month. We will usually review what it means to be Respectful, Responsible, Positive and Safe.

We will also celebrate our "Star Students" for the month. A star student will be chosen from each class and will receive an award, a treat bag, and will be able to wear the "star student" cape that day.

We will also choose 3 PAWs from each class where we celebrate those showing Jackson Pride and they will receive a fun reward as well.

September's star student will be celebrated today in our classroom and we will begin assemblies in October as a grade level.

Picture Retake Day!

Thursday, October 13th, is Picture Retake Day! If you would like your child to have picture retakes please send your child with their original packet to school and I will have them retake their school picture.

COLOR RUN Fundraiser

This year Jackson Elementary is doing a COLOR RUN Fundraiser to raise money for our school. You will be getting an additional email (today) with a lot more details regarding the color run.

The COLOR RUN will take place on Wednesday October 18th! Pledging will be begin this Monday October 3rd! You will receive more details and incentives for the students in a separate email.

We are SO excited!

Big picture

Jackson's Weather Guidelines

Above is a picture of the guidelines for outdoor time as we are approaching cooler weather. Please look over it and read it with your child. Please begin to practice getting coats zipped, gloves and hats on, eventually boots and snow pants. This is something that I would like the students to be independent with. Let me know if you have any questions.

Girl Scouts!

Interested in having your child join girl scouts? We have a few Kindergarten moms who are recruiting Jackson Kindergarten girls to join a group of Daisies! If you are interested, information is on the Jackson Parent Page on Facebook. You can also reach out to me and I can put you in touch with the moms!

What did we learn this week?

Reading: We continued our turn and talks by reading friendship books. We did quite a few activities throughout the week. The pictures have been posted on Seesaw!

Writing: We talked about how to draw pictures for our writing stories!

Phonics: We continued practicing the sounds our zoo friends make and we also began learning "snap words." The words we learned this week were; I, to, the, and, see.

We also learned the poem "Hey Diddle Diddle." We continued our work with rhyming words.

Math: We continued to subitize, finger flash and create groups within a 5-frame!
