Valerie's Vision
Last Sunday, my husband Zac took us on a tour of his workplace. He works for Salesforce which is located in the tower in downtown Indianapolis.
I’ve often given him a hard time about having such “rough” working conditions. Just last week, he complained that he couldn’t go to the cafe’ on the top floor and had to settle for drip coffee in a break area on his floor. Here’s a picture of the break area he was complaining about. And in case you’re wondering, yes you can lounge in the couch and play video games during your breaks.
In the tower, there aren’t assigned workplaces- just common areas to work. There are several open area working spaces, conducive to team work and problem solving.
There’s even mindfulness areas for employees to meditate or take a quiet break.
More than ever, that visit to the tower showed me that the workplaces of the past are diminishing fast. Our use of flexible classrooms, enforcing cooperative learning, embedding technology, and focusing on the “whole child” are ways that we can help the future generation be successful in life.

Field Trips
When you collect the $4 per field trip next year, you will need to keep a record of who paid for the particular field trip and turn it into Jaymee. (Jaymee learned this additional step when she went to a State Board of Accounts Workshop) Just a reminder that we do not collect money for a field trip that the only expense of the trip is transportation.
