It's the "Principal" of the Thing

It's hard to believe it is 2016! My goodness the year is flying by. In an effort to ensure we are bringing you timely and relevant information that is informative and useful, I have decided to try a new format for our school newsletter. The Comet Connection will is now the Comet Express! This new form of communication from Cedar Creek Elementary will be sent via CityWatch on a bi-monthly basis (the 1st and 15th of each month). It will continue to provide information on student learning and and school events as well as relevant information from CCE staff on programs, activities, and events. It is my hope that this new form of communication will be easy to read, more mobile friendly, and provide concise, timely information to help you navigate through school life. Please begin looking for the new Comet Express in place of the previous monthly publication of the Comet Connection beginning January 15th.

Math Wings Congratulations

A special congratulations to the following teams who earned medals at the Math Wings Regional competition on Tuesday and will go on to represent CCE at the district competition next week: Carson G., Jake C., and Audrey S. took 3rd place in the 5th grade division. Parker M., Jonathan W., and Keifer Y. took 3rd place in the 4th grade division.

If your student is a walker, please take a few minutes to visit with them about your expectations for behavior when walking home from school. Of particular concern is the safety of students when walking down Clare Rd. Because of the number of students it is important that students walk safely on the sidewalk. We have seen an increase in students running down the sidewalk as well as bike riders weaving in and out of walkers. Please visit with your child(ren) about being safe as they walk home or to the pool. We appreciate your support.

PTO Information

Thank you to all who contributed to our landscaping project last Fall:

Summit Landscape for donating the labor.

Materials were paid for via donations from:

Christin Black State Farm
Kaleb Hale State Farm
Pour Coffeehouse
Loma Vista Nursery

We would also like to thank Mr. Hesse for planning and coordinating the redevelopment of the front berm as well as the fall and winter decorations. The building looks amazing!

Your support of PTO also made it possible to purchase the wonderful new bulletin boards around CCE. They look amazing and will be so much easier to display our kids great work! Parent volunteers, you can retire your hot glue guns and tape rolling training!
