Together, Reaching Beyond Expectations!
Over the past weeks, I've been able to meet almost everyone on our staff. I must say that we are a lucky group! What a fun, energetic, and dedicated group of educators!? I am so excited about this year!
Growing up...what were your dreams and ambitions? What did you want to be when you grew up? What goals or aspirations did you ponder?
I remember in Jr. High wanting to take voice lessons...I mentioned it to my parents, and they didn't really see a reason to pursue finding a voice teacher. (Granted, I can't really sing...) What if they had let me try? Would I be on Broadway? What path would my life have taken? Of course, my path has led me here to Kerens Middle School, and I couldn't be happier!
As educators and individuals, what are your goals and dreams? I encourage you this summer to think about these. Long term, short term, big, or small...what do you want in this wonderful life?
We have the honor of helping to plant the seeds of dreams in our students.
We can truly mean it when we say, "You can be whatever you want to be when you grow up." Or we can sell them short. We can let thoughts like, "Well, you know his background...her family won't be supportive," dictate our expectations for our students. What kinds of seeds are you planting? This year we will be focusing on expectations and goals for our students, ourselves, and our school...Get ready to dream BIG!
Ask yourself this question...What would you do if you knew you could not fail???
Looking forward to the coming weeks!

Lexie is wrapping up the last perfomances as Jo in Little Women at the Warehouse Living Arts Theatre. This week McKenna got her feet wet by experiencing volleyball camp at Navarro College. They are soaking up the final days of sleeping late!
