I am extremely excited to announce that Cassell's Back to School Night is around the corner. I know that our families have not had the chance to really get to meet or get to know their child's teacher(s). For health and safety for all we will not be able to hold this school event in person so please plan on attending virtually. We will follow up an announcement in PARENTSQUARE with each classes 'Back to school Night' links.

The District believes that the most effective way to slow the spread of Covid-19 is to test as many unvaccinated persons as possible. For that reason, and to help maintain a safe learning environment for your child, we are asking that you give your consent to your child taking part in the District’s weekly testing in their class.

The District’s testing provider will be Concentric, which is authorized by the state to conduct the testing. The testing will take place once each week and the test will be self-administered by your child, if you choose to participate. All students who participate will be shown how to self-administer the test. The test that will be used is a non-invasive, short nasal swabs or saliva. Your child will give themselves the test in their classroom and then the test swab/sample will be collected by the test provider at that time and all swabs taken in the class (including the teacher’s) will be analyzed together. This is called “pool testing.” If any of the swabs or samples in the “pool” are positive, then all persons in the class will be notified immediately. In that case, that will allow you to have your child tested again to determine whether she/he is positive for Covid-19.

Como Distrito pensamos que la manera más eficaz de disminuir la propagación del COVID-19, es hacerle la prueba al mayor número posible de personas no vacunadas. Por esa razón, y para ayudarnos a mantener un ambiente de aprendizaje que sea seguro para su hijo(a), estamos pidiendo que usted nos de su consentimiento (permiso) para que su hijo(a) tome parte de las pruebas semanales del COVID-19 en su salón de clase.

El proveedor de pruebas del Distrito será Concentric, que está autorizado por el estado para realizar las pruebas. La prueba se llevará a cabo una vez por semana y la prueba será auto administrada por su hijo(a), si usted decide participar. A todos los estudiantes que participen se les mostrará cómo auto administrarse la prueba. La prueba que se utilizará es un hisopo nasal corto no invasivo o por la saliva.
