We Are At Our Finest When We Take Care of Each Other
Good evening Lowell School,
I hope your all warm and cozy and enjoying family movie night. I apologize for sending an email out on a Friday evening. I didn't want the message to get lost in the weekly newsletter.
First, let me begin by informing you that both cohort A and B pooled test results came back negative. I'm thrilled to announce that just over 80 percent of our students have signed up for weekly testing.
As we continue to navigate these difficult times, I thought it best to emphasize the importance of the Staff, Faculty, Parents, and Family members of the Lowell School Community to continue working together to ensure everyone's health and safety our students. It appears with all the medical breakthroughs over the past couple of months, the beginning of the end of the pandemic is here. However, it does not alleviate any of us of our continued responsibilities of proper social distancing and face coverings regardless of the inconvenience it may cause.
As a quick reminder, Governor Baker issued an Order effective November 6, 2020, requiring face masks or cloth face coverings in all public places, whether indoors or outdoors, even where people can maintain 6 feet of distance from others. Furthermore, masks or face coverings are encouraged but not required for children between 2 and 5. If anyone is interested in reading this order, here is the link: https://www.mass.gov/doc/covid-19-order-55/download.Another important safety concern is ensuring the safe pick up of all students directly by their guardians. I've asked teachers to make sure they take a few extra seconds to verify they've actually delivered your child back to your care. I hope you won't mind waiting these few extra seconds. Giving your child's teacher a nice big wave or a thumbs-up is very helpful.
Thank you for your continued cooperation and support!
Mrs. Phelan
