Principal's Message
Welcome to the 2022-2023 School Year!
I would like to welcome your family to Evergreen Elementary School! I hope everyone had a fantastic summer spending time with family and friends. We look forward to your child's outstanding year of learning and growth!
I am thrilled to be back at Evergreen for my second year as Principal. Our community of teachers is innovative and student-centered, and working with them to support your children is an incredible experience.
We are excited to welcome your child back to school on Tuesday, August 16th. Supervision for students starts at 8:10 am. Please note that if you drop your student off prior to 8:10 am, they will be unsupervised. Our supervised morning walk starts at 8:10am. The warning bell will ring at 8:17 at which time students will walk to the cone with their teacher's name. Teachers will meet students at their cones to walk them into class.
Teacher/Class assignments will go out on Monday the 15th via email, with a reminder phone call.
Please note that dismissal will be at 12:00 pm on the first day of school (8/16) for all students. Dismissal for TK/K only will also be 12:00 pm on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday (8/17-8/19) the first week of school

AN IMPORTANT TO-DO ITEM FOR PARENTS: Power Schools Parent Portal
The district has made many forms electronic through the PowerSchool Parent Portal. Please use the following link for instructions on How to Create or Log-in to the Powerschool Parent Portal Account
New Parents/Guardians: This is how you complete registration for your child, you can upload all the supporting documents such as birth certificate, proof of residency and immunizations. Please refer to the email sent from PowerSchool for your child's Access ID and Access Password. You can also call the office to get this information.
Existing Parents/Guardians: You may have created an account when Powerschool first came out and never touched it again, or can't remember if you did or not. No Problem! Either use the forgot my password link or create an account! You will need your child's Access ID and Access Password. The district also sent out this information via email to all guardians last week. You can also call the office to get this information.
Once you have logged in or created an account, please update all the forms.
- Click on the arrow on top left area of the page to get to the navigation bar
- once in the navigation bar, click on forms
- Please review each section to make sure your information is correct and update or add if new information is needed.
Drop Off ~ Pick Up ~ Parking Lot Procedures
We have made many positive improvements to our Drop Off and Pick Up procedures. As all students are arriving and departing at about the same time, traffic in front of the school and in the north parking lot can be very heavy. Please allow extra time for drop-off and pick-up, especially during the first weeks of school. We encourage you to walk or roll to school or park in the neighborhood and walk your child onto campus. Please be respectful to our E section neighbors by not parking in front of driveways or moving trash cans.
Drop Off and Pick Up:
There are different options for Drop off and Pick up. Parents/Guardians can:
- Park and walk your child into school: The north parking lot is available for parents to park. The parking lot by the MU is staff parking only
- Use the Drop-off and Pick-up line in the front of the school: please do not exit your car, we will have adults out front helping children get in and out of vehicles. Please be sure to pull forward as far as possible to speed up the drop-off and pick-up process.
Drop Off and Pick up Line Safety
Last year, we received complaints from neighbors and Rohnert Park Police from cars waiting on Emily Avenue to access the pickup line after school. This year, we will not permit cars waiting on Emily Avenue that are not directly in our pickup zone, directly in front of the school. Cars will need to circulate through the neighborhood until there is space in the pick-up line. You may want to plan your pick up time until after 3:05pm to allow the line to clear a bit. PLEASE understand that this is for SAFTEY reasons. Emergency vehicles CANNOT access Emily Avenue when cars are double parked or lining up. This is a safety issue for our neighbors and for instances of emergency on campus!
South Parking lot (by MU): The south parking lot is for staff parking, daycare vans, busses, and SPED parents only (SPED parents, placards will be distributed by your teacher).
We really appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding of our Evergreen community during pick-up and drop-off times.

Adult supervision begins at 8:10 a.m. every day. There is no adult supervision on campus for your child prior to this time. At 8:10 a.m., all children and parents are invited to start their day in a healthy way with our school-wide morning walk around the blacktop.
Please send your child directly to class if they arrive between 8:20am-8:30am. Your child’s teacher will be able to mark them tardy in class during that time period. If your child arrives after 8:30am, they will need to check in at the office first. We understand that life happens, but please make every attempt to have your child here on time, every day. It is disruptive to the learning environment when students arrive late to class. We appreciate your support!
Children should go home promptly upon dismissal. Children cannot remain unsupervised on the playground for any reason after school. Children found on the playground will be brought to the office to wait for their ride. Thank you for working with us to ensure that your child is safely supervised.

Restorative Practices
We are excited to continue our work with Restorative Practices!
As we continue to refine our restorative approaches, you may hear your child talking about classroom circles and using affective language. We are hopeful that these Restorative Practices will continue to increase quality communication and a sense of belonging, as well as building relationships with others in the school community based on trust, respect, and authenticity. We plan to offer parent nights this year to provide more information about Restorative Practices, so stay tuned for those!
We will have a dedicated "Family Corner" section in the Evergreen Express. In this section, we will post a "Question/Topic of the Month" to inspire restorative conversations with your families. A great place to have restorative conversations is around the dinner table.
August Question of the Month: "What are the qualities that make you a good friend?"
Good luck!

Pay: 15$ per hour
To apply, please call 707-588-5715 or email maya_russellnava@crpusd.org and let us know your availability.
