Do you have a stellar essay that you produced for or that speaks to your training in Gender, Women, & Sexuality Studies course(s)? Are you a creative writer with feminist inclinations? Do you have a piece of feminist visual or digital media/art?
Then you could win some money!
The Department of Gender, Women, & Sexuality Studies is currently seeking submissions for the Helen Hartung Award in three categories.
Academic: Submit two copies of a scholarly paper/non-fiction essay (5-25 pages). The first copy should include your name, address, email, and phone number and the second copy should not include any identifying information.
Creative Literary: Submit two copies of a short story, poetry, creative fiction, selection from a play or novel (up to 25 pages). The first copy should include your name, address, and phone number and the second copy should not include any identifying information.
Visual & Creative Arts: Submit a copy of the artistic creation (film, fine arts, music) with a 1-2 page description of the project.
Awards of $200 will be given for the two best submissions.
When & Where: Submit to Director of Undergraduate Studies, 425 Ford Hall by Monday March 25, 2013. Prizes will be awarded at the end of the Spring semester, during the GWSS Recognition event.
