Marlon Brando
One of my Favorite Actors
Marlon Brando, My Favorite Actor
I chose to make a page about Marlon Brando because he was very talented. Every role he played was completely different. My favorite role of his was Stanley Kowalski from Streetcar Named Desire. That film is 60 years old, and the acting is still some of the best I have ever seen. Film critic Gene Siskal said in 2012 that "Marlon Brandon is perhaps the greatest cinematic artist that ever lived."
Marlon Brando has said that his greatest influence in life was his father, Marlon Brando, Sr. His father was a hard-working laborer all of his life, but, according to his son, never complained or took a "sick day." The actor says he learned his work ethic from his father.
Marlon Brando also overcame the huge obstacles of being poor, relatively uneducated (he quit school at the age of 12) and being a first generation immigrant (his parents were from Italy). He faced a lot of struggles on his way to the "top."
